Sole operator and technician for NexTech FAS slot die coating system, coating panels with an ink at target thicknesses ranging from 30nm – 350nm in the fabrication of organic solar cells. Responsibilities included: Daily startup/operation/shutdown of system. Daily maintenance of material storage and delivery system. Troubleshoot and repair any part of system from prints as needed. Record keeping of daily production and material use. Assist in the development and provide feedback on experimental processes. NexTech FAS system included extensive use of hydraulics, pneumatics, electric and electronic control systems, computer controlled interface for operation and repair, lasers, robotics, and mechanical systems.

Operation and maintenance of numerous systems, including Orion laser machining system, Sonex ultrasonic machining system, and several electrodynamic machining (EDM) systems. Responsibilities included: Daily operation of Sonex system, including startup, operation, cleaning and shutdown. Troubleshoot and repair from prints as needed. Final test, installation, and initial operation of ViiSTA 80 ion implant system. Responsibilities included: Daily work in a class 100 clean room environment. Oversee final assembly of system. Once assembly complete, begin procedures to apply power to system and begin troubleshooting of entire system to bring up to fully operational status. Work with customers to teach safe and correct operation of system. Travel to customer sites to oversee installation of system. System included high voltage areas (up to 25K volts), robotics, lasers, high vacuum systems (down to 10^-9 psi using roughing pumps, turbo-molecular pumps, and cryogenic pumps), and extensive mechanical, electric and electronic control systems.
