This is an agency which offers students the opportunity to work at special events and most jobs are related to the hospitality business. I decided to start this extra job in order to gain more insights in this specific industry and enhance my people skills as you have to deal with a wide range of people. Even though I did not commit to this job for too long, I was promoted to team leader and got properly acquainted with the hospitality business.

At the start of 2016, I chose to set up my own clothing business. The company had its own graphic designer and screen printing studio, connected to that also a clothing brand named Scarfish. I took part in almost all aspects of the business, tasks consisted mainly of: marketing, logistics, financials, planning, negotiations, customer service, managing the social media, screen printing and defining the company’s strategy and short term goals.

My job within the firm consisted of data collection & processing, with the end goal of credit risk scoring different financial instruments. I also conducted an in-depth study of the new European investment legislation; Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II & Regulations (MIFIDII & MIFIR). I was introduced to front and back office services as well as treasury.

Worked in my father’s natural stone business for the summer holidays. It helped me gain a better understanding of how his organization functioned, in terms of the production process from raw to finished product, accountancy and the overall sector within Belgium. My tasks consisted both of manual and intellectual labor this gave me the chance to visit different stone businesses, construction sites and stone quarries.
