I introduced a programme to support the international students with learning Chinese and the Chinese National Curriculum for Mathematics. I implemented a new programme to improve the teaching of English to EAL students and to support students with SEN issues. I set up a system of collaboratively planning across the whole Primary School. I played the leading role in establishing a new system of break time supervision to improve student safety. I helped update school behaviour procedures and ensured these were followed and clearly communicated to all stakeholders. Unfortunately, there are financial issues with the company that owns the school, resulting in them no longer being able to pay the salaries of the Senior Leadership Team and releasing us from our contracts.

With other members of the Educational Leadership Team, I developed a strategic view, within the context of the school’s aims, which guided policies, plans, targets and practices in order to enable the successful implementation of the Primary Years Program. I promoted and modeled effective teaching strategies across the school. This included making certain that all those with involvement in teaching received the leadership, support and information necessary to sustain motivation and secure improvement in their teaching. I communicated with current and prospective parents at regular intervals, and in a practical manner, the philosophy and methodology that drives the PYP. I ensured that parents were involved with celebrating the successes of student achievement. A knowledgeable and enthusiastic senior leader, with 25 years’ worth of experience working in education, including 8 years in senior leadership. Currently searching for a senior leadership position to utilise my skills and take the next step in my career. Whilst at BIBS I: Successfully led the school through the IB PYP Evaluation. Improved collaborative planning, so that subject specialists work more closely with homeroom teachers, to deliver an authentic transdisciplinary program. Set up systems to improve teacher/parent communication, including refining student progress reporting and the sharing of student work with parents. Made planning processes and documentation, across the school, formalized and more unified. Improved practices for differentiation and language support.

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Secondary School curriculum – middle school, IGCSE and A-Levels. Restructured the timetable to allow wider and deeper coverage of the curriculum. Introduced a departmental structure and collaborative approach. Worked with heads of departments to develop an improved system of planning and assessment. Developed new policies and procedures that reflect the current needs of the school, following substantial growth in recent years. Supported staff with professional development. Oversaw the administration of all official Cambridge exams in the school.

Promoted to the position of Head of Middle Years Program Co-ordinator after one year in Wuxi. Impressed the senior leadership at the company so was asked to relocate to their new campus in Nanjing to assist the Principal with all aspects involved in starting up a new school. Had a specific responsibility, as Head of Primary School, to oversee the implementation of the Primary Years Program. Made founding Head of Secondary School, taking responsibility for establishing a secondary section in the school, including recruitment of staff and introducing the MYP. Worked very closely with teachers in Nanjing on professional development as most were new to the IB system.

I've taught History, Business and English as a Foreign Language up to 18 years old, Geography to 16 years old and Primary School Homeroom from Grade 1 to Grade 6. I've taught English National Curriculum (Primary and Secondary school), Cambridge IGCSE and A Level, PYP and MYP.

I taught all English National Curriculum subjects from Year 3 to Year 6.

Studied all aspects of Marketing. Achieved the highest ever grade for my Market Research project.

Whilst at Wolverhampton I also obtained a Diploma in Business Studies.
