Does Teaching in China Pay Well?

How much does a teacher make in China if they want to teach English there? Teaching English in China and the pay rate are two of the most crucial considerations for those of you considering working and earning money in China. If none of these matters most to you, you may be more interested in learning how much money you can save if you teach English in China. Other people may think you're merely seeking for a better way of life in China.

As an English teacher in China, how much money can I expect to make?

For an English Teacher with no prior experience in China, the monthly remuneration might range from 10,000 RMB to as much as 20,000 RMB. What's the reason for such a wide range? Because of the cheap cost of living in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, an entry-level position would pay around 10,000 RMB per month. In Beijing, the typical monthly rent is roughly 8,0000 RMB, which means that a beginning income of around 20,000 RMB is expected. With no prior experience, you may anticipate to make roughly 18,000 RMB per month in Shanghai, but your spending power will be comparable to that of Beijing instructors making around 20,000 RMB per month.

Now, if you've done some research, you'll realize that one specific Language Center will pay the same income regardless of the city. Regardless of whether the job is in Beijing or Shenzhen, the training facility pays a novice instructor 13,667 RMB per month. If your ultimate goal is to study in Beijing or Shanghai, then avoiding this institution is a no-brainer.

Teaching English in China, do I receive paid housing assistance or a furnished apartment?

For the most part, unless you're looking for a job in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 city or an international school, you won't be able to locate a job that provides housing. Many schools have stopped providing housing for instructors since many teachers want to be free to rent an apartment of their own choice.

As a result, the following question arises: The reason why some job descriptions include a housing allowance, while others don't is unclear. There are colleges that merely provide you a pay package, but there are other schools that mention the income and housing allowance separately. In the end, it's all the same. Asking why a housing allowance isn't provided would just irritate your recruiter or hiring manager. It's already part of your compensation and benefits package.

How much money can I make in China as an English teacher?

It's a good rule of thumb to remember that adults are paid less than children. Teaching in a public school, on the other hand, would pay the least because it is the simplest profession to do and needs the least amount of lesson preparation of all of the other sorts of employment that people may do to educate kids. Ask our recruiters about teaching in China guidance if you need more help deciding on a career path.

Again, since Shenzhen is our favorite city, we've compiled a wage table for those who teach English in Shenzhen. This is based on Shenzhen's average Teaching English in China wage for 2017 and 2018.
