Easy Jobs For Foreigners In China
Whatever you want to come to China, or you're already in China, or you're already stuck for the next step. Then, whether you have a degree, are a native English speaker, speak Chinese, or don't speak Chinese at all, if you look long enough in the right place, you will find the right job for you. Here's an example of a easy job for a foreigner in China, and maybe one of them is right for you.
Although the number of teaching jobs is declining, teaching is still the most common job for foreigners in China. Just go to any job site and you'll see an endless stream of posts about teaching jobs.
Although the wages have dropped, you can still find some really good deals to teach in China. These packages usually include an apartment, reimbursement for airfare, health insurance, a work visa and a bonus at the end of the contract.
Some are unimpressed by the new rules, which seem to make it harder for teachers. However, the new regulations do target unqualified teachers. In the past, all that was needed was a good level of English and a certain amount of charm. Now, you'll most likely need an undergraduate degree, TEFL/TESOL, native English speaker, and most likely some experience. So, the work is there, you just need to make yourself a little more fit.
Translating, Editing, Proofreading
To become a translator, you don't have to have a high degree, just a high level of Chinese and a certificate, editing and proofreading are great part-time jobs that foreigners can do in China to make some money. Due to the sheer size of the education industry, Chinese students often expect editing or proofreading when it comes to their university acceptance letters at home and abroad.
Along with China's booming economy, the country's hospitality industry has also seen a surge in development in recent years. With the increasing number of famous movie stars and high level CEOs, the salaries of managers and upper level employees of these luxury hotels have been increased to meet their many job demands. The average salaries of department managers and directors in five-star hotels are RMB 10,000/month and RMB 20,000/month, respectively. If you are promoted to general manager of an international five-star hotel, your monthly salary can reach 50,000-600,000 RMB or more.
The salaries of many chefs and restaurateurs in China are also very satisfactory, with the average monthly salary of a head chef in a fine restaurant being around 20,000 RMB. If you're already rigorously Michelin certified, then you can expect a higher income! However, if you're just starting out, don't worry, even low-level chefs with no experience can earn around 10,000 RMB per month, depending on the experience and the restaurant.
Import And Export Trade
Many foreigners, once they have a certain level of Chinese, may come to the conclusion that their best option is to engage in Chinese trade with foreign countries. There are already a number of companies that specialize in this type of trade that can be involved. However, most of these jobs are in smaller cities or in Guangzhou/Shenzhen, where the factories are located.
