How Long Is A Work Visa Good For

People with a valid Chinese visa can enter China within the period of validity and stay within the allowed time after each entry.

How Long Is A Work Visa Good For?

A number of entries. Single (01), two (02), and multiple (m)

China issues single, double and multiple-entry visas. A single entry visa allows you to enter China only once. Two entry visas allow you to enter China two times. Multiple entry visa allows you to exit and re-enter the Chinese mainland on the same visa during the validity period.

Once you leave the Chinese mainland, you must re-enter the original visa or return a new visa. Remember that in Hongkong or Macao, even for a few hours, in this case, it is also leaving the Chinese mainland. Also, remember that once a visa is issued, you will not be able to get an additional entry. If you need more entry, you will have to apply for a new visa.

When completing the China visa application form, you can check the number of times you intend to enter the country and the period of validity of your visa in Section 2.2. For British, American, Canadian and Argentine citizens, you can also tick the last option "other (please specify)", and indicate in the blank space that you want to obtain a 10-year Chinese visa and have multiple entry projects. However, you cannot guarantee that you will get the number of booking entries you choose. Consular officers may judge you're itinerary and make their own decisions. If you apply abroad, they seem reluctant to issue multiple entries.

China visa validity: 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 10 years

The period of validity of a Chinese visa is the time between the date of issue and the date of entry shown on your visa. Usually 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, sometimes even 10 years. The holder must be aware that it must enter the Chinese mainland before the date of "24:00". Otherwise, no matter whether there are any remaining entries, the visa will expire and cannot be extended. It needs to be reapplied.

Duration of each stay after entry

China's visa clearly shows the length of stay each time, referring to the maximum number of days allowed for the Chinese mainland to be held by the holder, starting from the second day after entry.

The length of stay allowed varies from 7 to 180 days. For transit visas, the length of stay is 7 to 10 days. For an ordinary single entry tourist visa, it is usually 30 days. The longest stay time of visa X2, S2, Q2 and J2 are 180 days. If you get a Z, Q1, S1, j1or X1 visa, you may find that the length of stay shown on your visa is 000 days. In this case, you need to apply for a temporary residence permit within 30 days after entering China. During the validity period of your residence permit, you can stay in China for any number of days as you wish.

Travelers need to keep time limits in mind to avoid overstaying. Overdue residence is in violation of Chinese laws and regulations, and will be fined or even deported.
