How To Apply For Chinese Visa

China is a country rich in culture and scenery, but for foreigners, because the process of applying for a Chinese visa is complex and strict, it is not easy to experience the country. When foreigners come to China to travel or work, they usually need to apply for visas in advance. You need to download a visa application form, fill it out online or in person, and then submit the application materials to your local Chinese embassy or consulate.

Applying for the wrong visa will waste time and money, and even hinder your travel plan. Before you start applying for a visa, it's important to know the different types of visas.

Chinese Visa Type And How To Apply

Tourist Visa

Tourist visa (L) and transit visa (g) are the only visas that foreigners can apply for without the assistance of government, business, or academic institutions. With an L-visa, tourists can travel freely in most parts of China (for Tibet, you need an additional permit to enter). There are single-entry visas, double-entry visas valid for six months, and multiple-entry visas valid for six, 12, or 24 months. People with L visa can stay for 30 days at a time.

How To Apply For Chinese Tourist Visa

A signed passport with at least six months remaining validity and at least one blank visa page;

Fill in an accurate application form in each column (if not applicable, please fill in not applicable);

A passport-sized photo (2 x 2 inches) with glue or staples on the application form;

Proof of legal residence status (for applicants who are not in their country of nationality);

And itinerary documents (round-trip ticket booking record, hotel booking certificate, etc.) or an invitation letter issued by relevant institutions or individuals in China.

In some cases, the applicant may need to submit the following two documents (it is recommended that you consult the local Chinese Embassy and consulate in advance): the employer's letter of proof (the employer's name and contact information, as well as the applicant's income statement), or the original bank statement of the applicant in the last six months; and the personal statement of the reason for the revisit, as well as the bank where you plan to travel and the last trip Cheng, if you are not the first to apply for an L visa.

Work Visa

Foreigners who need to work in China need to apply for different types of visas. The employment of foreigners is allowed only when the employer is qualified to employ foreigners. Visa Z is only valid for 30 days from the date of arrival, during which you and your employer should obtain temporary residence permits ranging from 90 days to 5 years.
