How To Get A Visa To China
If you are going to China, you need a passport and visa. A visa is a permit that allows an alien to enter, travel or leave a particular country. In order to obtain a visa to China, you need to apply to the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate. The visa is issued for the purpose of your travel and has a different period of validity.
Depending on your visa type and destination in China, there are different ways to get a Chinese visa. In addition to tourists who meet the visa free entry conditions, most foreigners need to apply for Chinese visas from Chinese embassies and consulates abroad. Countries that meet the relevant requirements can also apply for Chinese visa upon arrival, and apply for China visa free transit at specific ports of entry in China upon arrival. With the required passports, supporting documents and visa fees, applicants need to follow several steps to obtain a Chinese visa. The application of conventional visas such as China tourist visa (L visa) and China transit visa (g visa) only needs simple steps, while other visas such as China work visa (z), student visa (x) and family reunion visa (q) have additional requirements.
