How do I Get a Work Permit in China?
An immigration specialist or relocation business can help you manage the complicated Chinese visa application procedure, which is notoriously demanding. The majority of the immigration process takes place at the local level, and each area has its own set of processes. Expats seeking work permits in China should be aware that the regulations vary based on the location of their intended employment.
As soon as possible after arriving in China with their Z visa, expatriates should apply for employment and residency permits in China.
Permits to work in China
Each situation is different, and the immigration and labor procedures in different cities are also distinct. It is probable, however, that expatriates will be required to meet a few common requirements:
Prior to travel, you must get a Z visa.
A firm registered in China must support the application for a work visa.
A corporation's sponsored expats are required to reside and work in the same city as the sponsoring company.
An examination by a doctor is necessary.
There will be a medical checkup either within or outside of China for the employee. A doctor's signature and the hospital's seal must be on the report. Employers in China often attach a medical report to an application for an employment license, which is filed to their local labor department.
Foreign workers in certain Chinese cities, such as Beijing, are also required to show that they have no criminal past.
A Z visa invitation from the local Foreign Economic and Trade Commission is requested after an employment license has been accepted and given. An expat employee who is applying for a Z visa at a Chinese embassy or consulate in their home country receives these documents from the Chinese government. To get a work permit in China, an employee must go to their local labor office and fill out an application.
Chinese residency permits
A Temporary Residence Registration Form must be filled out and a passport presented to the local Public Security Bureau within 24 hours of arrival in China (PSB). The local PSB may be able to register expats who are staying in a hotel, but those who are staying with a Chinese citizen or in private lodgings must do so. Every time expats go outside of the nation, certain places demand them to do this task.
The Working Foreigner's Home Permit must be obtained at the local PSB within 30 days of arrival in addition to obtaining a work permit and registering their temporary residence.
An expat's evidence of legal residency in China is their Chinese residence permit. One must get approval from their local PSB and apply for a new residence permit at the PSB in their new destination in order to migrate to another area of China.
Within a specific period of time following the move, a new residence permit must be sought for to reflect the new address.
When applying for a Chinese residency visa, the following documents may be required:
Personal identification documents, such as a passport and photographs
Biometric data such as fingerprints
Documentation of good health.
The Chinese government granted a work permit and other supporting documents.
