In recent years, China has provide more jobs in China for English Speakers and gained a reputation of “land of opportunity” as its large job market has also open to foreign talents in the world. Actually most of jobs are open to English speakers which successfully attract millions of English speakers to work in China.

Large Job Market for English Speakers in China

Why is it said that most of jobs are open to English speakers? It is because that English is a global lingua franca. In order to boost economic and social prosperity, China has opened itself to the world and encourages business trade between China and other countries. Basic requirements for foreign talents to work in China

1、Bachelor Degree or above

2、2 Years of Working Experience

3、Clean Criminal Background Check

4、Medical Check

5、Age limit: Under 55 (women) or 60 (men) years old (this is as same as the Chinese retirement age)

As for education industry, there is one more requirement that only native speakers can work as English teachers under work visa in China. So if you are a native English speaker and have passion in education industry, English teacher will be good job choice for you.

Finding jobs in China

As for English speakers, you may think it is hard for you to get in touch with Chinese recruiters as you do not know Chinese. While language barrier is not more a big problem for you to find jobs in China because hiring companies will try their best to get in touch with foreign talents like you. A lot of recruiters will post their hiring info on foreign social media like facebook. Facebook and LinkedIn are all the useful platforms for you to get in touch with Chinese recruiters. What you need to do is joining in some work groups in facebook/ LinkedIn and checking all job info after you successfully join in. Moreover, do not forget to check the credibility of the job info which you are interested in.

Actually Chinese recruiters are used to hiring candidates through job website. As same as hiring foreign talents, Chinese recruiters also prefer to check applications and get contact ways of foreign candidates through job website. So this means that using job website is also a good way for you to get in touch with Chinese recruiters. But how to attract recruiters’ attraction and let them believe that you might be the person they wanted. The key to attract Chinese recruiters on job website is build up and complete your online resume. Normally candidates who use job website will only fill their basic information online and choose to let people check the attachment of resume for more detail. While most of recruiters would like to contact candidates who have completed online resumes with details of work experience as recruiters check so many resumes in one day and normally the completed online resumes will attract their attention to read and contact candidates.
