Visa To Visit China

So you want to Visa To Visit China? You can use TWOV as a tourist as long as you don't spend too much time in China and you arrange it in a specific way. Flight, do not fly directly back the same way. However, you cannot use TWOV to visit more than one city in China, and you cannot enter or exit China through different ports.

Visa To Visit China

Step 1: Determine if you are eligible to apply to enter China under TWOV's policy. You must have a passport from one of these countries.

Step 2: You must enter the country through one of these ports of entry. Entering the same area through another port of entry (such as a different airport) may not be allowed.

If you don't see the ports of entry listed above, many other countries will allow 24-hour visa-free border crossings. The shorter border crossing rules are not discussed in detail here, but in general, they are flexible, as long as you are at the first point of entry 24 Within hours of leaving China, you can take a flight within China. Obviously, this doesn't give you much time to explore the cities out there.

Travel requirements of China

Remember, the name of this policy is "visa-free transit". It is designed to allow you to transit through China when traveling from one country to another. It's not designed for travelers who have China as their primary destination.

You can still get away with it if you have a smart route, but it helps to understand the intent of the policy. You have to be traveling from one country to another with China in between. How do Chinese immigration authorities explain this? They don't care where your trip begins or where it ends. They only care about the countries that came before and after China. Here are two examples.

Finally, for Chinese immigration, Hong Kong and Macau are different countries. This means that you can fly from Hong Kong to Shanghai and then to Macau and enjoy TWOV during your stay in Shanghai.

Ticket Requirements

You can use TWOV successfully when you purchase inbound and outbound tickets separately When you have incentive travel and book separately for You may be able to do so at the time of the award for each trip. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that the itinerary is in compliance. Print copies of all airline ticket confirmation receipts and carry them with you to share with the airline and Chinese immigration authorities.

The airline that handles your travel to China will check to see if you are eligible to enter the country. When they see that you do not have a visa and your ticket ends in China, they will likely refuse you. Ask your agent to check the rules for crossing the border without a visa.

There are many, many rules in the TIMATIC database that agents use, and the TWOV policy is buried at the bottom. There is also a policy that only allows 24 hours with fewer restrictions. Agents need to scroll past that to find a more lenient policy that allows 72 or 144 hours. If you have access to a tool like ExpertFlyer, you can look up the TIMATIC rules yourself; Print Share one copy with your agent and allow plenty of time at check-in in case they get confused and try to argue.

Do not try to book a qualifying itinerary and then change it upon arrival in China to circumvent the rules. Your mischief will be discovered on your return to China and you will be subject to a 5-year ban on re-entry (see below).

Other restrictions

Don't try to be clever and break the rules. China is a friendly place, but you are a guest and should not try to cheat the authorities. TWOV's policy excludes anyone who meets any of the following criteria.

The travel document (i.e. passport) is valid for less than 3 months at the time of entry.

The passport has a Chinese visa refusal stamp on it.

Have violated Chinese immigration laws (including TWOV rules) within the last 5 years.

Failure to register with the local public security bureau within 24 hours prior to entering the country. (Most hotels will do this registration for you).

Crew members and their accompanying family members.
