What is the most paid job in China?

As China's national economy continues to grow, the country's need for specialized skills will grow as well. According to a study published on April 17 in the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily (online edition), occupations needing specialized talents would command the highest salaries by 2010, with certain posts exceeding 100,000 yuan (US$12,480) per year.

The following are the top ten occupations that experts believe will be in high demand in 2010:

Simultaneous Interpreter is a term used to describe a person who interprets simultaneously.

As the "No. 1 most sought after talent in the twenty-first century," simultaneous interpreters earn an average yearly salary of more than 300,000 yuan (US$37,449), according to some estimates. A greater need for such expertise is emerging, especially in light of China's increasing economic engagement with foreign nations as well as the impending Olympic Games in Beijing.

Engineer in the field of 3G (telecommunications).

The starting pay for this job is expected to range between 150,000 yuan (US$18,724) and 200,000 yuan (US$24,966) per year on an annual basis. According to industry experts, there will be more than 500,000 engineering job openings in the near future.

    Online Media Expertise

The expected monthly wage for online editors working for Sina.com and Sohu.com is 5,000 yuan (US$624), while the salary range for intermediate jobs is 8,000 (US$999) to 10,000 yuan (US$1,248).

Systems Integration Engineer is a job title.

This employment is expected to earn a salary of 100,000 to 200,000 yuan per year, depending on experience.

    Actuary

An actuary's yearly salary might range between 120,000 (US$14,979) and 150,000 yuan (about US$17,500). This is expected to be one of the most sought-after roles in the insurance industry in the coming years, especially as the Chinese insurance market continues to open up to foreign corporations. As of right now, the worldwide average yearly salary is around US$100,000. In China, the average monthly wage is more than 10,000 yuan ($1,200).

A Logistics Specialist is a person who specializes in the organization and transportation of goods and materials.

In 2010, it is predicted that there would be a shortage of 6 million logistical professionals. Chinese graduates may expect yearly salary ranging between 70,000 yuan (US$8,738) and 100,000 yuan, according to insiders at Shell Group.

Engineer in the field of the environment

China is now short of 420,000 environmental engineers, according to official figures. Garden designers and landscape designers should expect to earn between 7,000 and 8,000 yuan each month, according to predictions.

A CPA is a certified public accountant (CPA)

At the moment, there is a need for around 350,000 CPAs in the United States. In contrast, just 80,000 of China's accountants are accredited, with only 15 percent of those credentialed being recognized by foreign organizations. It is expected that annual compensation would reach 100,000 yuan.
