They will consequently need to pay social insurance premiums. It also includes expats working for branches and representative offices.<\/i><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Withholding and remitting income tax<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Initial deduction is RMB 3,500 for PRC <a href=\"https:\/\/dictionary.cambridge.org\/dictionary\/english\/resident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">residents<\/a> and\u00a0<strong>4,800 for foreigners<\/strong>.\u00a0As mentioned in the primer, you nearly always have to pay tax in the country you move to and China is no exception, you&#8217;ll have to pay income tax in China. For instance, payroll comprises piece wage, hourlly wage. Any enterprises have no right to deduct\u00a0employees&#8217; basic wage. As for the deduction of the floating wage, such as performance-related pay, bonus, shall be agreed\u00a0upon by both parties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There can never be any legitimate basis for deducting wage when one is late for work. But there are a lot of enterprises implement deduction on being late for work. It is\u00a0no ground for blame that enterprises\u00a0take some action to manage employee, but if any employee who doesn&#8217;t cause direct economy lost on their company, employers have no right to deduct the wage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">According to the\u00a0Provisional Regulations of <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inside_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hiredchina.com\/articles\/tag\/wage\/\" title=\"View all posts in Wage\">Wage<\/a>s,\u00a0provided that employees who caused direct economic loss to their company, employers can ask for compensation based on the labor contract, which<strong>\u00a0can&#8217;t be more than 20%<\/strong>\u00a0of employee&#8217;s monthly income<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.hiredchina.com\/Fgbvyq_Yz7AXVwXIkW7xOKcV2RMS?imageView2\/0\/format\/webp\/q\/75\" alt=\"4.jpg\" width=\"1000\" height=\"624\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; color: #888888;\">\u00a0Photo credit:\u00a0K.sina.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px; color: #888888;\">com<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Illegal deduction for\u00a0<\/strong><strong>donation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the\u00a0Law on Donations for Public Welfare, any type of donation shall be based on employees&#8217; willingness, they also have the\u00a0right to decide the donation amount. An enforcement deduction is breaking the law.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Other deduction condition<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Any deduction shall be in accordance with the law.
