So in this article, I\u2019m going to briefly talk about the reality of working in China.<\/p>\n

1. Working in China is different than working in the west<\/strong><\/p>\n

I remember when I first came to China, I thought I would have a similar experience to working in the west. I thought I would have the same opportunities<\/a> to advance, to grow, to be promoted.<\/p>\n

But I was wrong.<\/p>\n

I quickly realized that working in China was different than working in the west. My first big realization was that I was paid less than my colleagues.<\/p>\n

But the biggest difference was that I was expected to work twice as hard as my colleagues.<\/p>\n

And I was expected to work twice as hard as my colleagues. I was expected to put in more hours than my colleagues. I was expected to work late hours, and I was expected to work on weekends.<\/p>\n

2. The pay is not as good as you think<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you think that you\u2019re going to make a lot of money teaching English in China<\/a>, you\u2019re going to be disappointed.<\/p>\n

The average salary for a teacher in China<\/a> is about $1,500 per month.<\/p>\n

And if you\u2019re teaching in a school, the average salary is even lower.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re thinking that you\u2019re going to make a lot of money teaching English in China, you\u2019re going to be disappointed.<\/p>\n
