China is now home to over half a million foreign<\/a> teachers. Having said that, there are not many opportunities<\/a> for foreign teachers in China. This is because of: the lack of recognition of foreign qualifications, the lack of jobs<\/a>, and the lack of English courses.<\/p>\n

As most will know, China was the first country to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the Chinese government went into lockdown mode. This lockdown was initially a response to the early signs of the virus. This lockdown is now in place to prevent the virus from spreading.<\/p>\n

The situation right now is stable and the epidemic has been contained. However, there are still many challenges. I have been living in China for a couple of years now, and I have learned Chinese and experienced the cultural differences.<\/p>\n

This was good news<\/a> if you decided to stay in China. However, there are some challenges if you decided to continue working in China. Bad news if you were one of thousands of teachers wanting to get back to teaching<\/a> in China. In the Chinese education system, the teaching staff is very important. I have witnessed that if a teacher leaves, then the school will be shut down. This will have a huge impact on the students.<\/p>\n

Since July 2020, the borders opened slowly, and foreign teachers were allowed to enter. However, it was still difficult to enter China. If you are a foreign teacher in China<\/a>, you are at risk of the virus arriving to your country.
