He also joined the Hanfu Society at his school. Its members celebrate traditional Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/dictionary.cambridge.org\/dictionary\/english\/festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">festivals<\/a>, clad in Hanfu, and go into the community to lecture about their garments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">Luo is by no means alone in venerating traditional Chinese attire. An increasing number of Chinese argue that Hanfu, which characterized the Han ethnic group for more than three millennia, is worthy of far greater attention today \u2013 both at home and abroad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.hiredchina.com\/FnRQ3TJ16L4drQ-tPOhDckPuf26j?imageView2\/0\/format\/webp\/q\/75\" alt=\"\u5fae\u4fe1\u56fe\u7247_20171026150518.png\" width=\"369\" height=\"501\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Photo: Baidu<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">After vanishing from history for about 400 years, the style has gained a substantial number of followers on the mainland in the past 15 years as the country attaches more importance to tradition and calls on the public to be proud of <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"inside_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hiredchina.com\/articles\/tag\/chinese-culture\/\" title=\"View all posts in Chinese culture\">Chinese culture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">Hanfu, Luo said, had a \u201cbroader historical context\u201d than he expected. Photo:Gao Zhiluo<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">She was drawn to the costume from childhood when she was learning to play the pipa, a four-stringed instrument sometimes called the Chinese lute.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">When she plays on stage she always dresses in Hanfu, which she described as \u201cbeautiful and comfortable to wear\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">Her passion for Hanfu carries into her everyday life. They don\u2019t know that this is what our Han ancestors wore for thousands of years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">To raise Hanfu\u2019s profile, in 2015 some members of the Chinese People\u2019s Political Consultative Congress proposed making it China\u2019s national dress, while several deputies to the National People\u2019s Congress suggested that the robes worn by university students and academics on the mainland should be designed in a Hanfu style.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.hiredchina.com\/Fgh4mhul4JakjZ68_hJlxKeyVbqF?imageView2\/0\/format\/webp\/q\/75\" alt=\"\u5fae\u4fe1\u56fe\u7247_20171026173502.png\" width=\"401\" height=\"265\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Wang makes tea dressed in one of her silk outfits.
