Can I Stay in China After Graduation?
In the IT industry, the economy, and higher education, China is becoming a key competitor. Although China is recognized for being the top country sending students abroad to study, it is also well known that the government has been wooing international students to study in the country and work in local firms once their studies are completed.
The interesting Chinese culture, sophisticated major centers, and rural cities near naturally attract a large number of international nationals. Traditional, as well as contemporary lifestyles, may be seen across the country.
The official language of China is Mandarin, and learning at least the basics will provide you a competitive advantage if you want to stay and work in the country after graduation.
Because China has the world's largest population, you may expect a significant number of graduates each year. But don't let this deter you; the Chinese marketplaces provide a diverse range of trade and investment options.
Processed food and drinks, transportation, IT and telecommunications, education, energy and environmental protection, and building construction products and services are some of the key industries now seeing significant expansion.
Foreign nationals can get work permits in China in one of two methods.
Chinese Universities Accept International Graduates
Graduates of qualified foreign universities from across the world
You may be eligible for a work permit if you have a Bachelor's degree and two years of foreign experience. You must hold a Master's degree or higher from a Chinese institution to be exempt from the needed experience.
If you're thinking about pursuing further education in a foreign nation, it's a good idea to look into post-study work visas.
Work Z Visa
Z Visas are issued before entrance into China when the employer and relevant government departments submit supporting documents. This visa only permits you to stay in China for 30 days, after which you and your employer must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit for the rest of your contract.
You must prepare the following documents in order to apply for a Z visa:
Passport must be valid.

Your employer has sent you an invitation letter.
Medical records that have been notarized and certified, as well as criminal records.
You can submit your application in person to the Chinese embassies, consulates, or other diplomatic posts. Your application will be processed in 4 working days on average.
Business M Visa
Foreign nationals who are traveling for business or trade purposes, such as attending trade shows, visiting clients and factories, negotiating with clients, and signing contracts, are given a permit.
In most situations, this visa is valid for three months, with a maximum stay of 30 days (which can be extended based on the individual circumstances of the applicants).
Chinese Temporary Residence Permit
If you are in China on a Z visa or wish to switch from a student X visa, you must submit an application for a residence permit and attend an interview at the Public Security Bureau (PSB) Exit and Entry Administration office.
You'll need the following papers to apply:
Accommodation registration printout from the police
Physical examination results
Employment documentation or contract
Your permit's validity is determined by your work contract. You can ask for an extension as long as you can still fulfill the requirements. It generally takes at least 14 days for your application to be processed.
