From November 16, passengers can scan WeChat at the gate machine in Guangzhou Metro stations (Except APM Line). Guangzhou Metro is the first to launch this service.
Furthermore, not only Guangzhou Metro, but also passengers who take the BRT, busses in Guangzhou’s city center, Panyu district, Huadu district and Nansha district can do so through scanning WeChat.
Let’s look at how to set up this function on your wechat.
How to open the function?
Open WeChat → Click “Discover” → Click “Mini Programs” → Search “腾讯乘车码” or “乘车码” (You can just copy the Chinese characters from here.)
After entering the Mini Program “乘车码”, click the button at the top and switch to “广州地铁乘车码”.
Then click “立即开启”, to activate the service for your phone and turn on “payment without password”.
Type password of your WeChat Payment just once for verification.
How to enter the metro using WeChat
For IOS:
Before going through the gate machine, find the code in “Card & Offer”.
For Android:
Paste the code onto the desktop and click it before going through the gate machine.
Going through the gate machine
Select “广州地铁乘车码” → Click “刷码乘车”.
Go through the orange gate machine, put the code over the sensor and pass through the gate.
