Delivering high quality phonics and side by side courses to students aged 3-10 in both a classroom and online setting

Day to Day Responsibilities • Access company resources and plan my Teachers Logs according to the objectives of courses • Deliver high quality literature, writing, and phonics courses to students • Issue and explain homework assignments to students and parents of younger students • Mark all tasks that students complete and fill out post-class comments • When work schedule allows, assist with the development of the curriculum, winter and summer materials, and also assist with marketing event • Conduct phonics tests and free trials for new students and make recommendations for classes • Enforce a “culture of English” and other company expectations through classroom discipline • Work with the Head Teacher and operations staff to create strategies for special case students • Keep informed about schedule changes, students who will be away, and students having trial classes General Responsibilities • Be familiar with all aspects of the school curriculum, the lesson flows, and the quiz schedules • Complete mid-term and end of term assessments that are personalized and constructive • Be punctual to work at all times, start classes on time, and control student break times • Assist with marketing activities including the parties held by the center • Take part in two training sessions per term to keep up to date with current developments • Be familiar with the administrative procedures employed in the center and as directed by company head office • Substitute for absent colleagues - this may be at short notice and off-site • Cooperate with the Center Manager and Head Teacher in ensuring constructive communication and efficient operation of the center that creates a cohesive culture and working environment • Assist in the library during busy times, particularly when I have an empty slot during weekends • Be observed by the Head Teacher and Teacher Manager and receive feedback professionally • Communicate with the Head Teacher in a weekly meeting about my students and classes

As a library coach, I was required to assist in all aspects of the organization’s guided reading program. For each library session students read books at their assigned level, complete comprehension quizzes on an iPad, have a ten minute interview with the coach about the material that they have read, and write a book report that must be proofread by the coach. As coach, I was tasked with providing a positive and supportive environment for the students at all times, monitor student progress closely, and maintain a professional relationship with parents and other staff members. Day to Day Responsibilities • Check the library reservation list, plan for the day, and log students on the arrival sheet • Charge iPads and check connectivity to internet source and printers • Keep the display areas tidy and organized and guide the students to do the same • Greet students and help them to select reading material at their level • Enforce a “culture of English” in the library and other company expectations • Assist students in following the library flow while fostering independence • Interview students by discussing literary devices and encouraging critical/creative thinking • Administer, correct and record the results of quizzes, book reports, and interviews • Conduct library trials for new students and phonics tests for children too low for the library • Provide induction sessions for new library students to help them adapt to the system • Motivate the students and foster a love for literature and writing • Guide teachers who come to assist me in the library General Responsibilities • Monitor student progress utilizing data analysis • Be familiar with the school curriculum in order to make suggestions for student placement • Write student assessment reports with strengths, areas for improvement, and recommendations • Cooperate with the Center Manager and Head Teacher in ensuring constructive communication and efficient operation of the center that creates a cohesive culture and working environment • Substitute for absent colleagues - this may be at short notice and off-site • Be familiar with the administrative procedures employed in the center and as directed by company head office • Take part in two training sessions per term to keep up to date with current developments • Make the library an inviting environment for students by hosting regular themed corners, decorating according to Western and Chinese festival days, and other appropriate displays. • Assist in marketing activities and promotions, particularly with parties • Meet weekly with the Head Teacher and center colleagues to discuss student progress and strategies

Responsibilities • Teaching English and Mathematics to Chinese speaking students aged 5-8 • Preparing various programs for teaching English and Mathematics as well as setting up the papers for the students • Teaching using various methods as well as audio visual aids and making the teaching process interesting for students i.e. story method, role play, games, etc. • Preparing lesson plans according to the needs of the students • Evaluating the performance of the students and providing them and their parent’s feedback
