I am a recent graduate student from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a Bachelors Degree in Applied Health. As part of my program, I have completed core public health courses and am hoping to get my masters in Public Health while in Taiwan. Currently I am a Chinese Language Student at National Taiwan Normal University and have a Chinese speaking and reading level of TOCFL B1. I was an English Teacher in Nagoya, Japan for about two years. I taught children aged anywhere from 4 years old to 13. I also taught adult English conversation classes. Prior to enrolling in National Taiwan Normal University, I worked as a Paraprofessional at a Rehabilitation Center in Rexburg Idaho. During this period of time I had the opportunity to translate different medical documents into English for our foreign clients and their families. Thank you for your consideration.
Duties included providing therapy services, personal care, ambulation and exercise, passive range of motion activities, household services essential to residential habilitation, assistance with medications, teaching habilitation skills, and recording changes in client's conditions/needs.
I worked for a program called "English Connect" for 18 months in Nagoya Japan. The mission of this program was to help Japanese people learn English free of charge and to prepare them for attending colleges in the United States of America.
I studied Mandarin in Taiwan, China for 9 months.
