We are able to assist successful candidates who hold a PhD and are currently located outside of Chinese Mainland to apply for a working visa, although our ability to obtain the relevant paperwork remains dependent on the developing COVID-19 situation and is subject to change. Due to the current visa policies, we are currently only able to interview staff who do not hold a doctoral degree if they are already located in Chinese Mainland or currently hold a valid Chinese working visa. Chinese candidates are also welcome to apply. This policy will be updated in line with any changes to travel restrictions in the coming months. The English Language Centre (ELC) of the BNU-HKBU United International College (UIC) is a large and well-established department offering a range of courses and support services to students throughout their undergraduate studies. Students enrolled in UIC degree programmes are taught in English, so the ELC is responsible for ensuring that they are prepared for both the language and academic requirements of courses that use English as a medium of instruction. Now the ELC invites applications for appointment as lecturers in September 2022. Job Description We are seeking to appoint qualified and experienced English-speaking lecturers who can teach all four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to our undergraduate students. Teaching materials are provided, although we are always working to improve our courses and there are opportunities for interested staff to undertake content development. Experience in teaching English for academic purposes would be an advantage.
Job Requirement Candidates should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree with at least two years of English language teaching experience at university level and a TEFL/TESOL certificate. The appointee should have a strong sense of commitment and professionalism, excellent teamwork skills, and be able to build good rapport with students and colleagues.
