Job Responsibilities

Xinhua News Agency is seeking a social media editor/presenter for its English-language domestic news department. As a member of the social media team, you will be responsible for creating and publishing digital content that aligns with the agency’s ethos and voice. This will be in the form of articles, videos and other social media content. The position is based in Beijing, but includes travel across China.

Job Requirements

Core Requirements:  A passion for writing  Proven ability to proofread and edit copy that matches style and voice across all channels  Ability to pitch, develop and write interesting, unique and creative projects  Ability to collaborate with a team of producers, writers and video editors to execute original editorial concepts  Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation  An understanding of how to create compelling content across different platforms  A can-do attitude and the ability to take the initiative  Demonstrated ability to generate content quickly and efficiently Other Qualifications:  Minimum 3 years relevant work experience  Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Media Production, Business Writing or or related discipline.  Meticulous editing skills and an exceptional command of English grammar, spelling and punctuation  Experience of scripting and producing videos  Mandarin or additional languages not required but a plus Benefits:  Competitive salary  10 annual paid vacation days + public holidays  Ability to accrue days in lieu How to apply In the body of an email: -- Tell us why you think you would be a good fit for this role (in no more than 500 words) -- Include no more than four links to published work, or attach a writing sample (max 500 words) on a topic relating to China.
