Job Responsibilities

Meiyi are an educational company with a strong focus on cross-subject drama education based in Shenzhen, China. They are pioneers in drama-based kindergarten education having established The Royal Kindergarten Education Centre which they have run for the last twelve years: Meiyi is launching a new center （school of art） in 2020 for under 12s and are looking for experienced teachers to join their staff. This role may suit someone with a fine arts background as you will be asked to lead art classes. The exact content of these classes will be designed to suit the chosen applicant. Class ages will initially be 3-12 so applicants must have a desire to work with this age group. Specific experience not necessary. Training on the curriculum will be provided. WELFARE AND SALARY 1）SALARY range from 20000 to 28000 RMB per month (before Tax) depending on experience, contract period. (One ~ two years ) and the specific work. 2）Working hours: maximum 40 hours per week; 5 working days per week, (sometimes 6 days a week will be required but you can accrue time in lieu; working time often involve weekends) 3）Accommodation: Not provided but company will help finding apartment if needed. Starting Date: April/May 2021 (Please apply if you have a later start date available. Recruitment will be closed once the positions are full.) Contract Period: one year or more preferred.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS 1. An Undergraduate Degree or above 2. Native English speaker 3. Experienced working with embroidery, knitting, costume design 4. Have an interest in Chinese culture (not expected to know Mandarin) 5. Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues 6. Be an enthusiastic and energetic team player 7. Encourage creativity and confidence in students. 8. Be adaptable and flexible especially to last minute changing dates and schedules. Applicants must also possess one of the following for visa Purposes • 2 Years Teaching experience (able to provide references) DESIRABLE 1.Has experience working in China as an art teacher 2. Has experience working with early stages children (under 6) 3. Is currently making art 4. Ability to help plan lessons 5. Ability to research art related subjects 6. Interested in upgrading art skills
